AllPeers is a free extension which combines the strength of Firefox and the efficiency of BitTorrent to transform your favorite browser into a media sharing powerhouse.
This firefox extensions sounds very awesome. If it takes off the way that they are expecting and everyone uses it, it could easily change how we view p2p. It will actually be peer to peer now, instead of peer to some anonymous person online. That has always been my biggest gripe with the whole music piracy fiasco. They say oh but we are ’sharing’ music. Yet you don’t know the person who is sharing it with you, and he is sharing it with hundreds if not thousands of other people.
I’ve borrowed my friends CD’s before, i’ve even snagged a few songs off of them. I see nothing wrong with this. If I at some point have the physical CD in my possession, I think I have the right to do whatever I want with the music in regards to how I store or play it. But I am getting off subject, this is not an anti-piracy post, there are plenty of those.
This plugin is not out yet, but you can add yourself to thier notification mailing list and be notified when it is out. You can also read thier blog.
