I stopped development on this plugin when I found out about the Amazon Media Manager. This does everything and more that I had planned for my plugin and probably better than I ever could have done. Enjoy it :)
Update Feb 15, 2006 - I have resumed development on this plugin. AMM is a bit to bulky for what I wanted to use it for and I have always wanted to put out a WordPress plugin that people found useful. My way of giving back all those who have developed stuff that I use.

Description
Currently Reading is a book database plugin. You can enter in an ASIN(Amazon Standard Identification Number) and it will poll amazon for all of the book information including a picture in 3 sizes. You can use this to display the most recently added item, whatever you are currently reading, on the front page of your WordPress install. It can also be used to display an entire listing of everything you have in your database on a WordPress page.

I’ve installed your plugin, because I also think the amazon one is too heavy.
It activates fine, but when I go to “Manage” and Currently Reading, and try to add a book, I get “Cannot load ACTION_FILE.”
:) Thought I’d let you know.
This plugin was never finished, it was here for legacy purposes only in case someone wanted the code I had written. I’m sorry but there is no working code for this plugin.
