Just incase anyone is not aware of what vaporware is, it is basically something that is hyped for a while and never shows up on the market. I am a smoker, I smoke cigarettes, cigars, and I am thinking about adding pipe tobacco to my arsenal as well. I enjoy the act of smoking and I enjoy a good cigarette. If I knew more about it I would consider myself a connoisseur, and while I am well on my way to becoming one, I am not one just yet. My favorite brand of pre-packaged cigarettes are Camel Wides. I generally roll/pack my own cigarettes however. When I do, I use a Zig-Zag menthol rolling tobacco. I like both of these because they have a strong tobacco taste, rather than trying to get you your nicotine fix with as little taste as possible.

Now that we have some background on my smoking habit and tastes. Starting about 2 weeks ago I started seeing these signs everywhere for a new Camel cigarette. This cigarette is something I said had to exist everytime I smoked a Camel. That cigarette is a Camel Menthol Wide. Some of you may have seen the signs at your local gas station. I went around for the last 2 weeks looking for these cigarettes everywhere. Everyone had the advertising, but no one had the cigarettes, nor did they know when they would be coming in. So I patiently went around looking for them, with no luck whatsoever. Last Sunday I got very frustrated about it, and decided to go search online. Surely Camel would have some information on their website. Incorrect! The only piece of information I could find was an auction on eBay for a Camel Menthol Wide branded Zippo Lighter that was given out to executives to comemorate the July 4th release of the cigarette. I read that and figured cool, now I have an expectation on when to expect them, and that was fine. I waited patiently until Tuesday.

On Tuesday I went around to the same stores that had the advertising, and still, no cigarettes. I did the same thing today. The day *after* they are supposed to come out and still nothing. I don’t actually think these will become ‘vaporware’ because Camel is a huge company, and has already made many of the cigarettes I am sure. Yet still it is annoying to float something in front of me, with no expectations as to when I can aquire said item, for two weeks. Then tell me when I can get them. Then have them not available. Still, I am a consumer and as soon as they are available I will surely buy them. I won’t be happy about it though! :-)
