Since I was a wee lad and discovered this wonder that is the interweb, I have pretty much gone by the same name, BoBB. I never really liked it and only picked it out of laziness(bob was taken). It also doesn’t fit well with what people call me now, Pablo. Last night I decided to transition all of my communications over to my domain(away from gmail) and change my address. I have always had BoBB-at-irgeek-net but have been slowly phasing it out in favor of gmail. Gmail now has the capability to send completely as an external address.
So last night I started the process of migrating everything over to pablo-at-irgeek-net. Gmail is all setup to receive from all my addresses and send out as pablo-at-irgeek-net. Alot of web accounts I have for certain services wont allow you to change the address, which kind of sucks, but I don’t think it will be to big of a deal. I’m quite anxious to get everything migrated over. I haven’t had one centralized email system since about 4 or 5 years ago when I was using mutt on linux. Which is IMO the best MUA out there. I stopped using it when I moved over to OSX because I couldn’t find a decent terminal to run it in. Luckily GMail came along and all was right in the ‘verse. GMail has only gotten better since it has come out, adding the ability to send as different email address’s, and the multiple signatures greasemonkey script definiteley makes it more viable as a multi-address client.
I guess until I find a better mail client than GMail(full features local GMail client anyone?) I will stick with it. Remember if you need to get ahold of me, my new address is pablo-at-irgeek-net.
