9 Rules Blog Private?

Ok I don’t know the story behind this … but I just wanted to post about this. Is the 9 Rules blog private? I posted a commet yesterday on thier Analyzing 9Rules post. You can see from this image(click to enlarge) my comment went to coComment and I saw it on thier site yesterday. Today I went back to see if there was any new conversation and discovered my comment was deleted!

My Comment on 9 Rules

So I am asking for some input from others out there. Is it a private blog that only members can post to? Was my comment just that bad that they deleted it? Or am I completely wrong and my comment was never posted there and I was seeing things yesterday?

Jack Bauer

I don’t know if anyone who reads this is a 24 fan, or a Chuck Norris fan … but there is thing going around the net with random facts about Chuck Norris and why he is so bad-ass. Well, Kim over at Ramble Strip came up with some reason’s why Jack Bauer from 24 is even more bad-ass … very funny if you have ever seen 24.

I will now add my own fact about Jack Bauer …

If Jack Bauer had a penny for every time someone talked back to him, Jack Bauer would have a penny.

I refuse to be ‘that guy’ who starts a lame memu, but take this how you will. If you wish to come up with your own fact about Jack Bauer and wish to post it on your blog, feel free to do so … just make sure you link back to Kim.

*update* – fixed the link to Kim’s list of reasons

Gillette Fusion

I know this isn’t very computer related … but as most geeks are hairy fellows it is definately geek related! I decided to try out the new Gillette Fusion for my facial grooming needs. My first reaction was ‘No way!’ when I saw how much the replacement blades were. About $15.00 for a 4 pack! The razor itself was only $10.00 and it came with 2 blades and if I didn’t like it I could always go back to my Mach 3(about $10 for a 4 pack of blades). I realized that I don’t use blades that often and if it is as good as I think it’s giong to be, it’s worth that extra $5-$10 a month. What did I think of it? Well, lets just say I will have to squeeze an extra $10 a month into my grooming budget!

This razor is so smooth on the face. No razor burn, no cuts, no spotches of stubble left over. Easily the best shave I have ever given myself. Some of you may have noticed that I like to keep a little bit of extra face on my hair. This razor has an extra blade on the back for trimming, just like the electric razors with the little flip up trimer, except it is a blade. This thing works wonders! I wish I had a camera so I could show off how good it looks. If you were thinking about getting this razor, go do it. It is absolutely splendid! So yeah … totally not related to anything I normally post these days … but I just had to rave about it.

A Few New Plugins

Just thought I would let you guys know about a few new plugins I am running …

Google Sitemaps – This plugin will generate a .xml sitemap and automatically ping google every time it is updated. It should help with the indexing of this site and hopefully drive a bit more traffic my way =)

DoFollow – I figure now that my site should be indexed properly, might as well give credit to all those commenters =)

Search Everything – This is an awesome little plugin that changes the builtin wordpress search to search posts, comments, and pages for your search string. If you have a very large/popular site with lots of comments, I might recomend against running this plugin as querying the comment database for a string can take a bit of time if you have 1000+ comments … me, I only have about 300 so search away =)

Oh, and I am really working on getting all my posts tagged with UTW as well … really, I promise :)
