Today’s Mac app that I am going to write about is Growl. This application basically notifies you in a fairly unobtrusive way of many different events in many different applications that you can turn on and off in the system preferences section for growl. For instance if you are using Safari to download a file, growl will notify you when the download is done. For you windows users out there it is in much the same fashion as the AIM notifications except it only shows one notification at a time so as not to clutter up your screen if 5 people sign on within a few seconds(has happened to me!).
