Apparently WP Topsites is having more trouble. The site was hit by this nasty thing going around claiming to be a worm defacing websites all over the place. You can see it by going to the topsites website. If you search on google for the worm you can see tons and tons of sites have been hit by it. Not sure what it is how it works, I have actually not heard anything about it. It can’t be good news though … a worm that defaces websites! *shudder*

Well I did some more research on this last night and didn’t get a chance to report it. This is using a vulnerability in older versions of phpBB and PHP. So check with your host and make sure they are running PHP v. 4.3.10 or 5.0.3 if they are on php 5. If you are running phpBB make sure your running 2.0.11
Thanks for the research. I did some myself but didn’t come across anythign useful. Unfortunately I’m on PHP (RedHat 7.1) 4.1.2. I guess I will just have to cross my fingers then. And I have everything backed up.
