I have seen a few movies recently and I wanted to give a review of them …

Resident Evil: Apocalypse

Ok now there is one HUGE problem with movies like this … people cant go watch them without expecting something from it. Due to that fact that it already has a huge following from the hordes of video games bearing the same title, and despite the fact that most people didn’t like the first one because it didnt “live up” to thier expectations, alot of people still went to see #2 just to see what they could complain about. Most were surprised but a few still stuck to thier guns and bashed the movie. I for one have never played a RE video game and I loved the first movie. So I went into the second movie with the typical “sequels are never better than the original” attitude expecting to enjoy the movie but not as much as the first. I was pleasantly surprised as the movie was fantastic! New characters, great actions scenes, good story, and it doesnt hurt to have a few hot girls in the movie either! I definately like it more than the first one and I recomend it to everyone to go watch it if you like action movies.

Hero

Now due to the previews of this movie here in america alot of people, including me, thought that this was a Terentino flick, when in fact it was made in 2002 and directed by Yimou Zhang. Now I didnt know any of this until I started researching the movie for this post. It doesnt change my opinion of the movie at all, but its certainly a fact people should know. Terentino is listed on the credits for the movie as “presenter” … im not exactly sure what that means but I think it is something along the lines of hes responsible for bringing the movie to the US. So anyways on to the movie … it was very crouching-tiger-hidden-dragon yet at the same time it was all its own. Alot of the same fighting styles and a few of the same people added to the crouching-tiger-hidden-dragon-ness of it. The story of the movie was very good and incredibly captivating as it took a few turns throughout the movie. You think its going one way, and then BAM its totally different. I also recomend this movie to anyone.

Shark Tale

Not to much to say about this movie, it looked funny in the previews and I was planning on witing for the video but I had 2 hours to kill and nothing else to do and no other movies were showing. I figured what they hell. It was your typical kid movie type story with humor geared towords adults that has gotten alot more popular lately with movies like Shrek. These are obviously kid movies but they throw some humor in there that adults would get but go right over the heads of little kids. Its actually a pretty genius idea if you ask me. But honestly I would wait for the video if I had a second chance. Its a nice movie to see but nothing your gonna go crazy not seeing.
