My name is Robert Jorgenson, but people call me Pablo … long story. Son of Lori, brother of plenty, friend of many. Born on October 14th I am a Libra. I currently reside in Tempe, AZ and am employed as a phone jocky for Cingular exchanging manufacturer defected phones. I spent the better part of my teenage years giving myself a degree in computer science. I am planning on getting some higher education in the near future. I don’t know what I want to do but I am leaning towords software development. My dream job would probably be to work for Google or Apple doing software development for them. I was born in San Diego, CA where I lived until I was 6 years old. I then moved to the Detroit, MI area and moved around that area a few times until the age of 12 when we relocated to Phoenix, AZ. I spent the majority of the rest of my life there moving to Boston, MA at the age of 20 and then back to the Detroit area for 6 months, finally returning to the Pheoenix area where I live now. I got into computers around the age of 13 when I learned what Linux was. I have since become fascinated with the technology industry and have been educating myself in the field. I discovered WordPress in mid 2004 and have been using it ever since. I love travelling and hope to one day have this be my travel blog where I record everyplace I have been and everything I do and everyone I meet. Hopefully in my travels I will find a place I would like to settle down and live the rest of my life. I am pretty sure Phoenix is not that place. Hopefully I will find a nice, sweet, computer geek girl to move there with me.

This site came to be in September of 2004 as an upgrade from my old hand rolled PHP script that I used to post my thoughts online. It has taken many incarnations over the last year or so and has always been running WordPress publishing software on the backend. It has taken on many different appearances and I’m sure it is not done changing just yet. In it’s current incarnation it is running WordPress v2.0 and Michael Heilemanns WordPress modification, k2. It’s not really a ‘theme’ because it does so much more than alter the look and layout of your site. It comes with features and code builtin to work with numerous plugins. If you decide to use WordPress I highly recomend k2 unless you can do better, in which case send me the URL to that theme :-P
This sites original purpose was to track and document a trip to Europe I was planning on taking but has since fell through. The domain name was changed from myeurotrip.org to irgeek.net. This domain name warrants some explanation. Most people would look at it and assume that the ‘ir’ in ‘irgeek’ would refer to infared. I have heard this many times and despite my best efforts I know nothing of infared. It actually means ‘I are’ and the basic premis of the domain name is that I am a geek. This domain will most likely be changed in the not so near future to something else. Although I am not very creative and have yet to come up with a decent idea for one.
